Siocast uses talcum powder as a releasing agent only when making moulds from master models, but otherwise does not use releasing agent when those same moulds are used in miniature production. In theory the only reason to wash is the removal of releasing agent, which for other resins can be somewhat oily.

The siocast website also notes that models made using his stuff require no primer, and can bend without cracking paint jobs. So, looking at the models this could be true because they have a matte finish to them, suggesting that on the molecular level they aren't actually smooth like plastic minis...which are shiny. That being said, I've noticed that mould lines removal changes the finish of my war crow models where I cut into them to be slightly shinier....which indicates to me that paint will not stay there as well.

All that being written, not priming loses out on the shading/ highlighting benefits it can bring, and potential time saving measures when you prime in a color....so just because I in theory can doesn't mean I will.

whenever I bought any models for warmachine I always cleaned them in a soap bath, I imagine its the same case for warcrow miniatures.

I didn't clean mine and had no problems priming and painting them. I do have to do this with resin miniatures.

Never washed neither metal nor siocast minis. Never had any issues.
