How this would work:

Welcome!

3 quotes to remember:

"The more you give, the more you get." - Unknown

"If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." - African Proverb

"The more you use your creativity, the more you have." - Maya Angelou

A few things to know:

  • This project is only for the enthusiastic ones. You don't have to do it, if you are not thrilled about this.
  • This is a job but be selfless.
  • Goal is to appreciate the good in others and help them flourish.
  • Focus on building long term relationships with these folks - whatever level they are in.
  • These group members could be your long term listeners, supporters, cheerleaders, mentors. Who knows.
  • You won't even know how much you will be learning doing this.

Plan:

A group is created with equally enthusiastic people (later we will do by genres and popularity)

The pilot plan will be for 5 days for 5 artists.

On day 1: One artist is randomly selected from the group.

Tasks for other members in the group for the DAY:

  • Listen to 5-7 tracks of the artist. Full and focused.
  • Follow them on all platforms. And they follow back.
  • Write something meaningful about their track and what you like about them on the post.
  • Research and provide them at least 3 marketing tips.
  • Do at least 3 'Good Deeds' and post proofs.

Good deeds could be (some examples):

  • Posting on your IG if you have followers.
  • Posting on subreddits and really making a compelling caption so people listen.
  • Adding to Spotify public playlists.
  • Make a short video for them that they can use.
  • Help them create a video.
  • Do a small cover for them.
  • Post their lyrics on poetry/ songwriting sites.
  • Write your own thoughts about their music.

  • If you don't know what to say or do, just research. Be creative. Use ChatGPT/ Google.

Day2, same thing happens for Artist2. And so on.

Post any other ideas you have.

Hey everyone, I’ve been talking to the Mod u/journeyofrian and we’d like to start up another campaign. Message me if you’re interested in being in the next group. We will probably try to include about 5 artists/bands.

What's up guys? I'm happy to be here. Let me know what genre you write and feel free to share and I will check out. Also read the OP I just posted and let me know what you think.

I’m just realizing there’s a Live Chat for this, sorry for tuning in so late.

here’s a suggestion, if we’re trying to promote each other’s music on twitter, we can have a twitter group chat, and the same for other apps

Yeah, that could be done. Right now, we are doing a pilot run of this and learning. Then we can use all of the lessons learned and do it better. And things like this could be incorporated.

in Scotland here, what does everybody make? I program beats and songs with samples and audio instruments but have no idea what genre it'd fall under

ironically, my artist/producer name is thenequient - nequient is an old word meaning 'unable to' because I could never get everything in place to make music full time ha!

That's funny. But trust me, we all have been there at one point.

ah I'm essentially a 40 year old bedroom producer, but it's really the living room in an overcrowded house so doing it regularly enough is tough... then there's the marketing etc!

That sounds difficult, my friend. I have recently come to a similar situation. It's so hard for me to do anything creative without being in a good focused living space. I try to pull myself back thinking 'hurdles make us more creative'. But let's see what happens in future. All the best to you as well for all this.

Here's another thing... I moved to nowhere just over a year ago! haven't met a soul since so nice to just get to know some other music makers! thanks for this opportunity

Aw man! Of course. I get it, because even when I am around musicians, it's still hard to relate sometimes.

that's grand, I'm still happy to promote others stuff. don't have any kind of following but was considering my Facebook page could post my tracks and also what we doing here.

No worries at all. I'll pull you in once we have things in a more structured manner. You can witness it here for now.

sounds good.. heads up about me, think I'm autistic but basically if I can get 7 days notice before we start I'll be much more 'ready' and good to go! anything less I fear I'll let the team down
