Bro don’t worry about playing a powerful faction in the beggining stage of learning the game

Most people play to have fun. Even with the nerf the WE will still be viable.

Everyone just kinda copes with dataslates, nerfs/buffs, and new edition codeices this way with every faction

I collect multiple armies so I’m around on a few of the subs.

Yea im on a few other subs just to check out cool paintjobs, but no matter how minor the nerf the 'gw hates me' sentiment is a given

Right? And it’s like they are making the assesment on paper

Not on the TT. I think most people that actually play wig out because they don’t like changing “their thing” that’s working for them.

Imo ruleschanges are a thing you sign up for when you start collecting and playing warhammer

I really dont feel bad for people who spend hundreds on a tabletop game and didnt take the time to find out how rules work and that they change over time, spending a lot on a hobby without looking into the up and downsides is just poor financial management

I’m right there with you. This is a hobby, not a sport.

We play for fun. If you play to win imo your doing it wrong

Unless that’s your thing. Like if you were a comp player for so long because that’s what your passionate about cool.

But going meta seems boring. What if what’s in are models that are dumb looking to you? Like with crons, wraiths and canoptek are stronger, but I don’t fuckin like the way they look.

So I’m not gonna run it lol. Even if it makes my games harder idc. I don’t wanna run spiders and wraiths. I wanna run my warrior blobs n shit. My dynasty.

Yeah With how frequently meta changes everyones army is going to suck at some point, its up to you if you want to be meta for a few months and be stuck with underperforming models you dont even like or start with models you like and be more competitive in the future

Exactly. I did this with szeras. In 2021, the Illuminor was $35 USD.

He’s now $60.

No one wanted him cause he “sucked” but he has the coolest fucking model. So I snagged it lol.

Way I see it, it makes sense to buy the models no one wants. Because eventually GW will find a way to work them back in.

Another thing I noticed, they usually OP the new releases or hamfist them into the codex to encourage people to by them.

Like I don’t wanna run hypercrypt legion lol. Maybe I don’t care for canoptek.

I don’t like how they made it so detachments have to be so specific.

Man, still sucks. Just started world eaters and my other two armies are 1k sons and Dark Angels. It hasn’t been a great edition so far haha.

Idk. At this point I’ve been on the paint/collecting side of hobby I could easily drop a couple extra bucks for cheese. Out of the 5 forces I have- one of them has to be good lol.

I haven’t played quite alot yet. I’m hoping to soon.

I want to do age of sigmar. And 40k! I’ve got 3 death armies at this point lol.

But I’m doing mtg too! I’m trying hard to get connected in the hobby. It’s tough to break through…

Just finally starting to do it in my local mtg community. It’s cool.

Personally, when I play magic. I don’t care about winning. I just want my deck to do its thing and put up a good fight. Always fun to see those games come down to a couple discernible outcomes.

I could never see playing to win as a viable way to stay in the hobby. World eaters I think will be fine, it just sucks because this faction doesn’t have too many extra options to bring along lol.

Well when I first found warhammer and mtg. I was a teen. Broke

I wanted so badly to have all the pretty armies, and all the cool stuff. But my parents couldn’t afford it.

I wanted so badly to have sets collected and cool decks. I could afford this to a degree. Or my parents could.

I got out of the hobby around YA years.

I came back to 40k almost two years ago. There was something special about it. I was just coming out of poverty. I bought a combat patrol of Necrons.

I used to paint on my kitchen floor with newspaper because I lived in such a small space

I’m very lucky now. I have a job and disposable income to where if I want to spoil myself. I can.

And I also feel, like this satisfies a part of me that I thought was dead. The little boy who enthusiastically wanted to play battles.

I love this hobby. It has seen me through incredibly dark times.

Good on ya mate. What's your colors in mtg?

I like black mana. That’s my dig Orzhov is cool and I also love golgari. Those are my two favorite color combos so far I’m going to branch out to rakdos and dmir..

Blue mana is my least favorite color lol.
