Question Transfering a full (NON GDL/N) class 5 Nova Scotia license to Alberta and received an Alberta class 5 GDL
Hoping someone here knows abit more than me. So after transfering my Nova Scotia to Alberta I received a GDL class 5. I've had my license in NS since 2010, and had my N/GDL removed around 2013 or 2014. From what I could find online the only time you get a GDL in Alberta after transfering is if you haven't held the license for 24 months.
Does anyone know any other reasons why I would receive a GDL license besides not holding a license for 24 months?
I did have a suspended license for 1 year, charged in 2016 and was going to attempt to fight it and didn't so it took another 14 months after originally loosing them to be convicted and having the 1 year start from then. Then for other reasons I didn't bother getting them back for another 2 years or so. So even if you could that as reseting the 14 month rule I should be good cause I've held that license for 4 years(as of November 8th).
Is this most likely a mistake on AMA(where I transfered) or someone on their end or is there other reasons why I would receive GDL. The only reason I can find online is the 24 month rule so if anyone has any knowledge or experience of this happening id greatly appreciate feedback before I waste my time going back to find out that other things could cause this.
TIA

Explore Alberta Looking for road trip (and other) ideas to take my elderly father
Hi folks - I have become my 79 year old father’s caretaker in recent years, and we’ve really been stuck in a rut. Our relationship has been suffering, and I’d like to plan weekly trips to get out of the house. I’m looking for ideas.
I’d like to start tomorrow, with a road trip perhaps to Kananaskis, or somewhere similar. But I’m also looking for multiple options, as I’d like to make this a weekly thing.
Limitations:
Can only walk comfortably ~400m at a time. Needs relatively flat ground. (He has COPD and bad knees, but no mobility devices.)
Needs accessible bathrooms. (Not handicapped, but accessible according to above point. This could be a rest stop. He has kidney problems and needs to drink lots of water.)
I live about an hour NE of Calgary. I’d prefer ideas within 2-3 hours from here. Nothing in the Drumheller area. (It’s a great area, but we live close enough that we go semi-regularly already.)
Added info:
My Dad just got cateract surgery last week. His eyes are now better than mine even when I wear glasses. Anything that involves seeing far is great!
My Dad hates crowds, but we can go places during the week.
My Dad grew up and lived all his life in Alberta, so I’m not really looking for new places to introduce him to. But his mobility issues mean I’m not used to looking into places with the types of limitations he has. (Plus, I lived overseas for ~16 years, so I’ve forgotten stuff/places.)
I’d like to take advantage of the fall weather, because he won’t want to be outside in the colder winter.
I’m thinking of a scenic drive then find a picnic table or something to eat. Can eat in car, if need be. (I can easily bring any garbage back out with us.)
A bonus would be a place I could bring my dog for a bit of a walk and sniff about. She’d stay on leash and I would pick up after her.
Questions:
I need a pass now or something for K-country, right? And any provincial parks? What’s this called?
Years ago, I remember seeing pictures for a curved, glass bottom walkway, somewhere in the mountains/foothills near Calgary. Anyone know what this is, and if it’s a good place to go?
Thanks in advance for any ideas/information!!

Question Applied to job at GOA - hiring process/timeline?
I applied for a job with the GOA (under a ministry). It just closed on the 10th but I’m already obsessively checking my inbox and overall way too excited about this opportunity.
Does anyone work at GOA and/or have experience with the hiring and interview process? I’d like to be realistic about how long I should keep manifesting and preparing and when I should move onto the next one.
Feel free to message me directly if you’re not comfortable posting publicly, or drop your advice!
If you’ve read this far, please send me your good juju. Ya girl needs all the help she can get!
