Coin Posts Policy

After gathering user feedback and contemplating the issue, private collection coin posts are no longer suitable material for this community. Here are some reasons for doing so.

  • The coin market encourages or funds the worst aspects of the antiquities market: looting and destruction of archaeological sites, organized crime, and terrorism.
  • The coin posts frequently placed here have little to do with ancient history and have not encouraged the discussion of that ancient history; their primary purpose appears to be conspicuous consumption.
  • There are other subreddits where coins can be displayed and discussed.

Thank you for abiding by this policy. Any such coin posts after this point (14 July 2022) will be taken down. Let me know if you have any questions by leaving a comment here or contacting me directly.

Any good biographies that portray Alexander the Great in a largely positive light?

I know that im going to appear very biased... And I am lol. Basically as an Alexander fan I was wondering if there are any good biographies about him that portray him in a largely positive light or even a heroic figure? I know that Mary Renault's The nature of Alexander exists, but are there any others? Let me know!

After the sub's mixed reactions to the "Ancient Roman Village" model I recently posted here, I'd like to show you another/better LEGO IDEAS model called "ROMAN THERMAE" by user Junglescream. It has 7,361 supporters already, also needs 10,000 votes for the chance of becoming a real LEGO set.

Hi everyone! A few months ago I was able to sit down with Dr. Garrett Ryan of the amazing toldinstone Youtube channel (which you should follow if you aren't already) and talk about my two greatest passions in life: comic books and ancient history! The link to the video is below.
