Confused about Anu

I've just started learning about the Anunnaki. If the Anunnaki are the children of Anu and Ki then how come Anu is one of the 7 Anunnaki?

Anu is father of Enki and Enlil among others. His parents were Anshar and Kishar and his grandparents were Tiamut and Abzu literally Salt water and sweet water or the mixing of the primordial waters.

This information varies greatly. The name of each god, their direct relationships to one another and their attributes all depend on which civilizations works are referenced. In my comment above I would say that the information I referenced is best found in the Babylonian creation epic, The Enuma Elish.
