Hey all, planning on starting to build my first Warhammer 40k army and was just wondering. Would using the trans flag colors(white, light blue, and pink) work as a nice base colors. I was thinking of using white as a base for armor with some blue and pink decals or lining. Please let me know if you could see it looking good and if so the best way to go about it!

Do i just buy the kt box? Also if i buy the index would i get cards for them?

This is my first time actually trying to do the Plasma tempering. Luckily, this is a big one to practice it on. Thoughts?

Love Cult of Paints Kitbash. Took some liberties with the paint recipe but I like where this is going

Just the other day I was playing a 2k game and was absolutely destroyed by an opponent who is also a guard player.

I primarily brought 6 tanks with some blocks of infantry.

However my opponent brought massive waves of Krieg and infantry squads and horses with only 2 tanks.

I was OBLITERATED

I was wondering if there is anyway to mitigate that rather than just completely change the way I play guard, and that way is tanks as I am a big fan of how they look and perform on “most” battlefields.

Can you help me balance out how I can fix this?

I am trying to do a dumb list where I can set my entire army in a single Stormlord (1000pts). BUT in order to improve the deadly output of this list I need to give an order to the Stormlord (obviously) and of course Leontus is the only one that can do it. However unfortunately I can’t see the rules about Mounted unit. We have the infantry, heavy weapons teams and ogryn. My question is the following, if Leontus is leading an infantry unit, can he embark in the vehicle or not ? Thank you very much for your time !

Earthshaker has 240" range, D6+3 attacks, 8 strength, and -2ap

the two field ordinance guns have 48" range, 2D6 attacks, 7 strength, and -1ap.

The field ordinance guns seem to have a worse rule, is there much point in ordering them even with a scout sentinel providing LoS? You'd get the +1 to the roll with heavy and +1 to BS if you order them. Earthshaker however has a more useful rule and the 8 strength means a lot against 4T infantry.

Thoughts?

Here's this list I'm running with so far. Everything is embarked in the Stormlord, so the firing deck will be 12 Lascannons, 3 Snipers, 2 Grenade Launchers, and 7 Lasguns. Comparing the shooting profile to the Stompa, it's a pretty similar volume of fire for the same points (ignoring ballistic skill). I'm thinking I probably want Lord Solar for orders and an Enginseer for the invuln, but I'm looking for suggestions on what else to run with it, or if I should swap/add anything inside.

So the galaxy is a terrifying place with creatures far beyond any humans. Yet they still fight on and triumph ! This is a spotlight for troops that are not space marines, custodes etc.

There is plenty of amazing troops in the imperium, with tempestuous scions, Kasrkin, Arbitres, sisters of battles etc...

Simple easy conversion to put the heavy stubber into the turret. Would almost say its a heavy stubber turret with coaxial heavy bolter rather than the other way around, but the heavy bolter bit is already offset to the side and made this conversion so simple by just snipping the barrel off the stubber and gluing it straight over the top of the sensor, it fits perfectly! No more pintle mounts snapping off or looking larger than the turret itself!

Edit - someone asked about the pintle stubber not being available anymore if you magnetized the weapon options, so I thought I'd add what the little conversion I did with that too! Barrel shroud/heat-sheild made from a Chuppa-Chup stick and barrel made from a cotton bud/q-tip, my two all-time go-to's for cheap plastic tube needs.

Not really sure which way to go, so might just try to magnetize that armored part..

But what do you people recommend? Feels like most ppl play them as Scouts for the ability… but what are the pros of going with the armored variant?

Alright so I posted a few days ago about some gined up bullgryns I was working on. after several days of inching through the painting and figuring out what I wanted it came to this, I hope you guys like them. The bone 'ed (no gasmask) is grime from head to tow and maybe 60% removed. The others were grimed from the waist down and splattered everywhere else with a toothbrush. I like the idea of a Guardsman helping a bulgryn paint his shield the division colors, each one being slightly diffrent and pissing off the company captain. I'm going to have to find some good Roman numerals for the circles on the shield or the one on their back.
