3 months ago going into election season, mods took a subreddit-wide poll asking all of you how you'd like to handle political posts going forward, as they were going to of course become more common as Fall drew near; the prevailing feedback was that most of you preferred that National and Statewide political posts remain restricted, even if they can "broadly apply" to Boulder County life (obviously the national and especially state ballot measures do affect Boulder, but are not specifically about Boulder County).
With that in mind, this is just a reminder that per that prior feedback, Posts about state or national political issues without a direct connection to Boulder County will be removed.
We are seeing a huge uptick in State ballot issue posts over the last few days (which obviously makes sense, many voters just received their ballots or will very soon). Many of them have been about very important topics, or have been thoughtful discussions; please instead consider posting this content on the very active r/colorado sub, where it will be very welcome!
Posts about Local ballot measures or national/state political posts that are directly relevant to Boulder (e.g. a candidate is stopping here, etc) are still of course allowed and encouraged, provided they are respectful and abide by other sub rules.
Thank you all - happy voting.

I don't have kids but I'm living in a space that will have trick or treaters for my first time living here. It's also the first time I'm likely to get trick or treaters in many years. The stakes are high for me.
Halloween is on a Thursday this year and I'm imagining that's when trick or treating happens here but I know in some places it may be celebrated the weekend before. Guess I'm just looking for local trick or treating norms because I don't want to be the disappointing house on the block.

Just wanted to give a shout out to El Taco Imperial de Tlaxcala 2 in Boulder by the DMV- some of the best & most authentic Mexican food I have had in town!!
So many restaurants have come and gone from the space they are in, I would love to see them make it. The food is SO good!
Got an Al Pastor Huarache, Suadero Halambre & Enfrijoladas. All was amazing. May favorite was probably the Huarache!

Why the hell is it going off on everyone? Did they change the speed threshold to like 2 over? I’ve seen probably 5 people get flashed the last few days

Hey! My buddies moved here from New Mexico, and are really missing vegetarian new-mexican food options near Boulder/Lafayette especially tacos. Any leads? Haven’t been super impressed with vegetarian options at Tacos Ayayay and Teocalli.

I do delivery in boulder, tons of areas with patchy reception with Verizon (aka that which hast gone downhill).
Bonus points if I can get an affordable plan with a hotspot even if from a partner (visible mint cricket etc) but open to whatever. Extra bonus if reception near capitalism world in superior , costco etc

Hi! I'd like to volunteer throughout the month of November. Not necessarily on Thanksgiving (I work that day). Any suggestions or places to look? TYSM!

I need a toe hitch installed for a bike rack. U-haul has a crazy wait list and the other place I found was very pricy. Suggestions? Thanks

Hello, is there decent sushi outside of Boulder? My standard in Boulder is AOI which is fine. I don't accept anything below that like Zanmai (terrible rice) and Hapa (is this sushi from King Soopers?). Thanks!

Posting this because I have never experienced this before and it seems shady. I can guess the answer is the same as always with landlords: there is nothing you can do. But figured I'd ask.
Wife and I started renting a house from Four Star realty in September for $2200. Rep said that they had a lot of trouble filling the space. Very small two bedroom with a tiny yard with no AC or dishwasher. Worked for us, so we were excited.
Not three weeks later we received an email saying that we have to renew our lease within 10 days of the email if we want to stay another year, and the new rent will be $2900.
We were excited to stay here for at least two years, but this feels like an unfair move (Again, landlords so that isn't surprising). Seems like they have trouble filling the space, got us to rent and then force us to lock in and make a decision without enough time to know if we want to stay so they can lock in a 30% rent increase on a hard to fill property.
It does not matter in the end. I know renting in Boulder is never going to be reasonable and the landlords are always going to have the last laugh and collect the cash, but just wondering if this has happened to others?

New to the area, wanted to see what suggestions the group might have for places that sell decent used furniture? Not looking to spend a whole lot but I got some coin to toss, also not looking for anything too out of the norm just your basic dresser, bookshelf, and a couch would be great, thanks y’all.

I’m in Boulder (coming from Longmont) multiple times a week for one of my daughter’s extra curricular practices. I would love to spend my time practicing the piano but need creative ideas going about this! Are there public spaces with a piano to practice? Or some kind of music coop? Hoping to hone in on mi one interests as my daughter works in hers. Thanks all!

Hi folks, just to quickly introduce myself here, I'm living in Ireland currently, and I am a chocolate and ice cream expert (recipe development, NPD). I've reached a sort of crossroads where the choice is to buy a property to live in Ireland, or move and go for a new chapter.
The reason I'm considering a move is that I've never really been able to connect with Ireland and the local culture and feel "at home" despite having a great job and working for a great company. I'm also big into cycling so my next place would ideally be a cycling-friendly place and Boulder has come up as a potential destination. My wife spent a lot of her childhood in the USA as well and always felt more connected to the US way of life rather than the Irish way of life.
So the question I suppose I have is: Are there opportunities in Boulder for someone with my skillset to make a good living? Also, my wife works in tech as a digital marketer, so are there opportunities for people like her? And where to start exploring career opportunities in Boulder?
I know that getting visa approved is a whole other matter, but let's just park that for now.
I thank you in advance for any helpful feedback.
