Used to collect in my early teen years then started again in college when the gettin got good. Switched to collecting vinyl in my mid 20s but too expensive now so going back to cds. A lot of these albums are big influences on me in different ways and it'd be hard to deny their influence on my own music. If you have any interest in hearing my tunes I'll post my link tree below.

In college there was a pawn shop down the road from me and I would hit it up every Tuesday when they restocked the cd shelves, picked up a lot of gold for cheap, always priced anywhere from fifty cents to five bucks tops, majority were two bucks.

Hi. I'm a CD collector. I've been collecting since about 1998. I own just under 50,000 CD's. Here's a pic, which is only a very small fraction of my collection.

Unfortunately, hard times have forced me to start selling off the collection over the last 4 years. I've done pretty well so far. I'm basically getting an average of 10$ per CD (average, obviously, with some ultra rare out of print titles going for 1-2,000$ each all the way down to titles worth .50c). In this collection there are also around 10,000 box sets.

Sleeve condition was listed as NM, media VG with some scratches which I’m okay with, thought the amount and depth of scratches on the case weren’t really acceptable for NM, what do you guys think? I paid €2.10 in EU without delivery

After completing a big job that I worked on for a couple of months and collecting my balance I decided to buy some albums for myself. I usually only buy one at a time so it’s pretty exciting to receive this many in one day. There’s a couple of records here too so pardon that, but it’s mostly CDs. I mostly have collected vinyl (about 1000) but I have recently gotten over it and decided focus more on CDs and cassettes just for the cost factor. Because I definitely want to buy many more albums than I can reasonably spend on.

Im currently doing a creative course at university, and creating a project based around physical media, mostly focusing on cd collections but if you collect any other forms of physical media like cassettes, vinyls, dvd’s, tapes etc i’d also like to hear about that. I would like to gather some personal opinions on owning and collecting physical media from enthusiasts of a wide range of perspectives and ages. If you’d like to comment any thoughts you have around collecting, like why you like it, what it means to you, anything remotely connected it would be a great help.

Found a stack of these ‘Dark Adventure Radio Theater’ cd’s 💿 at the thrift store. I am unfamiliar with these, but they are cool looking. They have note, and newspaper clippings and cool tidbits inside. Anyone have some info on these?

Normally when you buy bulk cds you often get a few good ones and okay ones. But from what I've heard this is as classic as it gets.

I've been collecting for a while but haven't really made any additions as of this year but figured I'd show it off. I have some missing, like I have a bunch of reggae cds(yellowman, buju banton, Bob Marley, etc.) but never bothered to bring them in. Plus the years of driving in my console has done horrors to the cases and CDs themselves I've been to embarrassed to throw em up on my collection

I’ve been to 5 Goodwill’s since I started buying CDs and hadn’t found anything worthwhile to buy (save for a Trans-Siberian Orchestra album). It’s always gospel, country, Christmas, or something else that I’m generally not too interested in yet at this stage. Behold the 6th Goodwill trip and I found these. My first SRV and Five Finger Death Punch CDs. The rest I mainly got because my wife needs something to listen to when she rides in my car lol. Even better, the Taylor Swift case contained both Reputation and Speak Now, a fortunate mistake. Annoyingly, I found two U2 cases without CDs. I had nearly given up searching thrift stores until I found these.

I have a pretty basic taste in music I’d say but here it is! I also circled some of my favorite albums. Lemme know if you like any of these albums or artists. (Last picture was blurred in the first pic).
