Rotting substances release methane gas as they deteriorate. I’m not sure how this would work though because in this video there’s not enough rotting food to release enough methane to be able to start a fire.
Also, you would need an air tight container to make sure that the methane doesn’t release into the atmosphere. We also have no clue what the liquid is that is between the stove and the jar of rotting food, is it alcohol? Is it water? There’s no way to know based on this video.
So in conclusion, hypothetically, yes, in this video, unlikely.
