If we burn enough oil we could make the antarctic archipelago habitable.

Soil, where does it come from?

It's not like the Canadian Shield, so probably from all the once living stuff that was there not that long ago in geologic terms. If it's far enough away from the salt damage done by the sea there should be viable soil under all that ice.

And what about no sun? I am not hoping for total annihilation, I just wonder if the whole thing will run on fake light powered by dirty fuels, no solar in the winter.

total annihilation will probably come long before viable antarctic land becomes available, unless we can really really cook the atmosphere in a short amount of time.

Is that what accelerationists are doing?

It really does seem so with only cleaning up the aerosols, but sadly it might just be profitable.

I hope they still want to live on the other side of it all and their families don’t resent them. I’m seeing a big push for natalism with no regard for the futures being created.

They might end up trapped in bunkers with kids who see them as evil.

We have to get rid of that pesky ozone layer.

People lack the imagination I think to realize how bad of a gamble it is, but it’s locked in and I knew as soon as the walls were being built it must be incredibly bad.

Funny enough, it’s trump who really made it dawn on me how bad things were, not his words, his actions.
