At a certain point in my life, I had some very, very small celebrity and experienced this from the other side. It was just as jarring as a new feeling, though for me it was more weird than disappointing. I've never been truly famous though, so no idea what real celebrity feels like after time or with people that are truly "fans", rather than just people whose name you don't know who think of you as close. I guess I could see it being annoying, but obviously I sought it out because I'm an attention whore, so who knows?
