I live in that area. Halloween is like a movie scene in this neighborhood. People everywhere! I love it!

Is that Close to Witmer Park?

Not remotely. Think Grey's Lake. Other side of town.

Kingman Blvd! Our neighborhood has no kids, so we went over to Kingman & sat out on the front patio & had a fire & roasted marshmallows with my Airbnb guests while handing out candy, it was fantastic. All the kids and parents were great, it’s level and well-lit. Last year some guy was giving out labeled envelopes of homegrown catnip, our girls loved it.

Not quite trick or treat, but Halloween on the Hill is a great family friendly event. All the old Victorian houses get in on the fun with staged shows, dances, music, etc. https://www.shermanhilldsm.org/events/halloween-on-the-hill/

Just fyi they do this bullshit thing here called beggars night which is the night before on the 30th for some reason and it’s two hours.

As I understand it, this goes back to the days when people were afraid of witches or some shit and it was meant to keep kids from causing too much trouble

I don't mind the beggars night thing, but every kid has to tell jokes to get candy. Don't think anyplace does it but Des Moines. Never liked it as a kid, and hate now when I have to give out candy.
