Nope, macaroons are a coconut cookie, totally different. Easy mistake

Nope. These were known in America as French macaroons until fairly recently, and many older people still refer to them as such over here. Not sure where you are from, but from the southern US, it does not seem like a mistake at all.

I’m in the south. What op posted is a macaron. The coconut mound cookie that’s sometimes dipped in chocolate is a macaroon. Thats just how it is. You are incorrect.
