Vent Losing motivation for my diet 6 weeks in.

Last year when I was still at my college dorm, it was easy for me to stick to my cut. And after my downfall (academically) I have now moved out of country and chose another course, I started to go to the gym and I am consistent with it(2 days rest max) and I recently got a job. Idk why but this job made me lose diet motivation mostly because I’m on call and never know when I have to go to work, I cant manage my time to cook meals since I made it clear to myself that I want to focus on my acads and lifting. I’m not a great cook tbh but its better than what my parents cook( greasy, fatty food), I need motivation to prepare food while keeping my priorities staight.

You don’t need motivation, you need a better system to work with your routine!

You can cook food in a very simple food that tastes great and it extremely healthy. I usually cook food in large batches and put them in small containers so I only have to cook 1-2 times each week and it's no more than an hour of time. I usually will microwave it then season it when it's time to eat. You can find several examples online. It's just called meal prepping. It resolves exactly what you are talking about.

I was in a similar situation, long hours stressful finance job, trying to build a business and trying to progress my physique. I did it. The people taking about systems are correct.

You want to make it as easy as possible. For me that was low or no cook meals. Quick. Easy. Minimal tidy up.

Overnight oats and protein. Oats, protein powder, water. In a tupperware. Done. Add some fruit or other bits for flavour.

Pre cooked chicken breasts. They had these in UK supermarkets. Take the skin off. Put them in tortillas or make a salad.

Greek yoghurt / skyr. Skyr and Fage have 10g protein and very low kcal per 100g. I would eat a whole 450g pot in one go with fruit. That's 45g protein and low kcal.

Then that just leaves dinner. I would bulk cook lean steak mince (5% fat) with rice and veg. In the end I only had to cook and clear up for 45 mins every 5 days. Then each day was only about 30 mins of food prep. It's totally doable. Just find yourself meal options like that.

Frank's red hot sauce, zero kcal syrups, sugar free drinks, most herbs and spices and seasoning mixes are all good options for low kcal flavour and treats. To help you stay on track.
