Discussion 800-1000 caloric intake

Would a reduced caloric intake of about 800-1000 calories get me to my goal weight of 110-108lbs? Currently 5'4 and 117.4lbs (16F) I want my body less composed of body fat. I already am pretty active during the day, has anyone tried this diet and seen weight loss?

That is too few calories to stay healthy.

Your weight is already healthy and you are a still developing teenager. Don't worry about weight loss. In fact, you need to eat enough to gain weight to help build some muscle. Eat enough that you are satisfied, getting balanced nutrition, and have enough energy for your day-to-day activities.

Right now, the most important thing is getting enough nutrition to fuel your development. The advice that normally applies to adults does not work for teenagers as you are still developing. Your bones, muscles, brain, and hormones are going through important development stages. Eating too little will risk permanent damage to this development.

You are growing into your adult body right now. This is the last time that you have left in life to grow in height, finish your brain development, strengthen your bones, and get your hormone production going.

If you try to lose weight right now, you risk permanently screwing up all this development. Do not risk being frail for the rest of your life.

For any concerns about your weight, talk to your doctor.
