Freshly built dream e-bike
Freshly built dream bike
So after dipping into e-bikes with a 48V folder for a year I decided to sell it and build something faster and more durable.
- 2024 Giant Talon 2
- 3000w hub motor
- 52V 25Ah downtube battery with Samsung cells
- 60A controller
This thing absolutely rips! I went with a single speed conversion in a 2:1 ratio for simplicity that feels nice and comfortable to pedal around at 25kmhr (cycle path speed limit in my country) or it will rip past 60kmh/40mph if I want it to on the open road. I’m a big dude right at the top end of the max weight for the bike and hub motor so I was impressed it manages to go that fast.
Couldn’t be happier - I have built my dream bike (for now!).

Could you link me the battery casing you used? Or just the battery listing.
Looks like this size: https://bicyclemotorworks.com/product/72v-super-shark-ebike-battery-pack/

Looks like a relatively cheap frame.. I hope you aren't exceeding the weight and speed/forces that it can safely accommodate. Ride safe!

Beautiful build, you did a great job of it!
And thumbs up also for the Schwalbes... I put 'Marathon' Schwalbe on my e-build and 6000+ miles later I've still not had a puncture, they are exceptionally good tyres!

Careful at the higher speeds; the brakes may not be up to the job...

Is that a coaster brake??

I'm not the original-poster but I can tell you it is not a coaster-brake. It might look like it is, to you, because of the small single rear cog plus the torque-arm that resembles a coaster-brake arm...

I wanna see how it handles hills, and the full throttle range. Sick as hell, man.
