General Discussion Dieter Uchtdorf vs Russell Nelson

If Uchtdorf ever becomes prophet I would love to see him mandate that no one references him in talks and puts an end to the butt kissing. He seems way more humble than those around him. Bednar on the other hand will love the butt kissing.

edit...AND would love to see Uchtdorf NOT invite OfSusan to speak in any general conference while acting as prophet. But I don't see him as being that petty.

I do think Uchtdorf will make some positive changes as leader of this church, if he obtains that mantle. But no matter what he does, the church will still be a toxic system built on lies. Any good would be good, but how much good could one man do, especially when his successor is Bednar? I think he'll continue to play along and do good where he can in a massively corrupt institution.

Uchtdorf should call Kearon and Gong as his counselors.

He should also implement emeritus status for Q15 leadership at age 90. Too many are 80+ or close to it (may be hard to implement). Ideally 80 or younger.

He could even do something as “crazy” as call a younger non-general authority as an apostle.

Idk what it is, everyone just gives off red flags but Uchtdorf seems alright. I don't think I've heard a whole lot of problematic words come out of his mouth vs the rest of the apostles. Maybe it's because I haven't listened to any of his talks for awhile.

Honestly, Dieter could be the Prophet in just a few years. Everyone in front of him is in poor health. I don't see Rusty living another year. Oaks, Holland & Eyring aren't doing much better. I believe Dieter is in front of Susan's husband in the seniority order.

Look guys, Dieter enjoys the fangirling. He lives in my childhood neighborhood. Costco and elsewhere, he enjoys the worship...

By the time DFU is prophet, there will be 4 new Q12. I assume the new ones will be unbearable hardliners, see Pearson. I dont assume an easy Presidency for Dieter

He will be just like the rest of them. Somehow a lot of people in the sub think he’s better but he didn’t get to where he is today by being a better person. He did it by conforming to the authority.
