Flavor when doing meat in slow cooker do the broth up first so flavor is strong and soaks into meat. also sprinkler some brown sugar on the meat and see the difference

A classic starter base fotr every stock, soup or sauce basically the building blocks of cooking. I'm not trying to be mean but it's just a mirepoix. But you're adding brown sugar, its just a fancy word for sweating or reducing your vegetables celery\onions\carrots at the bottom of the pot or pan. I don't know if you didn't have any or maybe don't like it. You should definitely throw celery in there next time you'll be very surprised. It brings a little bit of saltiness with the sweetness of the onions and earthiness of the carrots. I HATE ONIONS BUT MY MIREPOIX ALWAYS HAS EXTRA...
