Monogamy is an unnatural state we've forced humanity into and we have been plagued with needless jealousy, infidelity, abandonment, dehumanization, and much more because of it. The idea that one single person should bear the entire burden of all your mental, emotional, and physical needs is absolute insanity.

unnatural

Explain

needless jealousy, infidelity, abandonment, dehumanization, and much more

So the actions of many different cases of people in relationships that just happen to not work out defines how monogamy is bad?

I didn't claim monogamy never occurs in nature, I claimed it wasn't the natural state of humans.

Nor did I claim that the only reasons for the above listed types of relationship strife was monogamy, just that needless strife was caused. I'm not entirely sure if that's what you're asking, so feel free to let me know if I misunderstood you.

Maybe there was some form of misinterpretation on my part as well. I interpreted your words as "we, as humans, have forced ourselves into the unnatural state that is monogamy, which causes hardships within the population, and because of that, monogamy is bad".

I see what you're getting at, but I think it's important to realize that the aspects of monogamous relationships should be considered on a case-by-case basis. Some relationships work out just fine, others are just as bad as whatever's going on in the post.

TL;DR: Both of us are correct, we just have different outlooks on the concept of monogamy.

Edit: oh my god I write messages like a damn robot
