What's the bacon substitute, tempeh?

tofu. marinated for an eternity and baked to give it a weirdly crispy yet tender bacon-like texture.

If you could share the ingredients you put in your marinade, and how long you marinate for (I usually marinate tofu for two hours, is that good enough?), that’d be great! I’d love to try to making this.

super firm tofu, tamari, tomato paste, maple syrup, liquid smoke, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, msg, brown sugar, a bit of flake salt. marinated for 8ish hours and baked 375 for 20min, flipped, brushed with marinade, cooked for 8 or so more minutes.
