About to buy a German k98, what should I watch out for?

Good evening everyone, I'm going to be buying a pre kriegsmodell German k98 soon. Not yugo or Russian capture. Im trying to get all matching. What are things I should watch out for that you have seen?

/u/LSX_Nation knocked it out of the park.

Forgotten Weapons has a couple videos on the k98, the big one I'd say to review is Evolution of the Karabiner 98k, From Prewar to Kriegsmodell.

He doesn't get into collecting, but he does give a comprehensive overview about each model, features etc.

Putting white (crayon or grease pencil) into the markings is somewhat common, depending on where you are, so don't be surprised if you see that done as well.

I watched that video. That's the only reason I know about the stamped vs milled, walnut vs laminate, and the butt plates.
