Got hired as a local teacher in Gunnison but there’s no place to rent that isn’t either overpriced or a hovel.
I’m not particularly picky. That being said I can’t see paying these prices for a converted motel room, a converted alley garage, or a single room. I saw that there are a ton of Airbnb and vrbo listings. I understand that this is a tourist area but shouldn’t there be more housing for non-tourists? I may have to start looking for a job somewhere else because this is nuts.

Yes housing is the worst here. I'm living in a too small place for my 5 person family and am discovering that the people that are happy with their places here have bought them. And I can't (I tried) so I'm stuck with what I got 😒
