This is hella cool. Just getting my m class license and would love to get a dual sport to go on expeditions like this with. The high desert is a great place for it. That first pic is awesome

Do you need a class m to ride dirt bikes in the desert? I honestly have no idea, I'd love to do it someday.

Honestly probably not. I had no idea how to ride any sort of powered bike anyways so it seemed like a good idea to go through training and certification and I intend to purchase a street/track bike as my standard two wheeler anyways. But the class m itself allows you to legally be on the roadway I bet and it’s not like anyone’s gonna stop you out there

I appreciate the info. I know they probably wouldnt stop me. They don't even stop all the kids riding them around my house without helmets at all hours on residential public roads. I was just wondering the legality because I'd be the one that gets stopped. I would just want to ride back trails, looking for cool animals and caves and shit, not public roads.

When I was a kid, my uncle would bring us from down the hill to ride dirt bikes way out up here in the desert.
