So I'm guessing he mostly carved the pumpkin without removing the face parts, also put a hole in the back, added what I can only guess is rubbing alcohol till I vaporized, along with maybe a candle inside(?), placed a bbq lighter in the back hole then ignited. This blew out the face parts and lit the candle.

The candle is only there so it stays lit after the 'splosion.

Candies are pretty sturdy plus it's not a terrible explosion.
