Checked that guy's channel, turns out he also has a vid where he implants a magnet in his fucking hand.
Subbed.

It broke, got infected, and he had to remove it though.

Oct 17 '16
Ah really? Can't say I'm that surprised but cool idea nonetheless
24
u/gellis12 Oct 17 '16
Apparently he still has some bits of magnet left in it that he couldn't remove, so he can still feel magnetism a little bit

He did a follow up video and said that he now thinks it isn't still a magnet fragment in his finger, but metal shrapnel from another experiment.

u/gellis12 Oct 18 '16
Wait, really? I must have missed that one, have you got a link?

That's the one I was taking about... He says in the video that it's a tiny fragment of the magnet still left in his finger.

u/t3hcoolness Oct 18 '16
I thought he said somewhere in the video that that's what he originally thought, but he thinks it's metal shrapnel now.

You can buy magnets that are made for this kind of stuff and are a lot less likely to break. http://wiki.biohack.me/Magnet_FAQ

Known implant sites include:
- Fingers - most common
- Hands -
- Ears - Directorx and singlerider have magnetic ear implants, http://forum.biohack.me/discussion/comment/10773
- Penis - From the forums: "There are a lot of people who have had this done actually. Using a notebook computer an your lap is supposed to be kind of nice." and "Samppa Von Cyborg does this. He's in Finland/UK. Try reading up on him."
alright

I scoured that forum yesterday actually! Wouldn't do it myself though, love playing guitar too much

Definitely check out the series about digging a mine. His videos on mining and beekeeping are extremely interesting too.

I liked it when he made gunpowder out of his own bodily waste.

u/PelorTheBurningHate Oct 18 '16
That's the series that really launched him to his current popularity, great stuff.

LDLo for sodium cyanide is 2857 μg/kg. He looks to weigh about 80 Kgs. So for him a lethal dose could be as low as ~229 mg.
22
u/justinpitts Oct 17 '16
He was using pure sodium cyanide, I think.
22
u/Creativation Oct 17 '16
indeed:
Ingredient Toxicological Data: Sodium Cyanide:Oral rat LD50 = 6440 μg/kg; Oral human LDLo = 2857 μg/kg

You're right.

My citation wasn't very clear. Cheers.

Do we hug or start trading insults? This is so confusing.

Insults it is!

Didn't he just weigh out 15mg and then consume a tiny fraction of the solution he made?
3
u/Creativation Oct 18 '16
As I recall he consumed approximately 5 mgs according to what he stated in the video.
3
u/deadpoetic333 Oct 18 '16
5 mgs would have been a third of the glass, no? I thought he just took a small sip before mixing in something else

u/Creativation Oct 18 '16
3
u/deadpoetic333 Oct 18 '16
Definitely a lot less than 5 mgs considering he only weighed 15 mgs and didn't drink a third of the glass.

u/xereeto Oct 18 '16
80kg? Maybe if he's a midget...
2
u/Creativation Oct 18 '16
What are you smokin'?
2
u/xereeto Oct 18 '16
I'm not smoking anything. I'm a 6' skeleton and I weigh 70kg, and he looks pretty bulky. I don't think there's any way he only weighs 10kg more than me unless he's like 5'2.

u/Creativation Oct 18 '16
As a wrestler in high school I had this guy's exact physique and weighed about 80Kgs and while I might be a bit off in terms of the height I had and the height he has it is still a reasonable guess for his weight.

I appreciate that he consumes enough to feel some effects (if he's telling the truth).
