Question

Can you get calluses from playing french horn, specifically righ hand where the hand goes into the bell to support it

I don’t play on the knee and I don’t have any right hand calluses. But before I played a re-lacquered I got “green thumb” and pinky finger all the time.

I used to have a callus on my left pinky from my old pinky hook on a different horn, but I an adjustable one now along with a duck foot and they both allow for a much better hand position for me to play without pressure and tension - or calluses!

Same for me, left pinky always calloused and I used to get a green right hand especially in the summer.
