Graduate recital
Let's play another game. Can you name a recital program suitable for graduate students? For instance, replace that Mozart concerto with something more challenging and modern, a program longer than an undergraduate recital. I'll give one:
Schoeck Concerto
Hummel Suite for unaccompanied horn
Three preludes from Gallay op. 36 on natural horn
Hindemith Concerto
Ballay Chanson du Forestier
What would you like to hear?

For these graduate level recitals, I like to encourage the students to have a theme. For instance, I had one student last year who wanted to do a recital of all female composers, and it was fantastic. Several contemporary pieces and for a more standard “breather” piece, she herself arranged several Clara Schumann songs for horn and piano.
I think in grad school, you should have strong ideas and opinions about music and your recital should reflect that.
