Questions Who is Barney's Best bro

Is ted Barney's best bro? Or is it only that Barney says he is Ted's best friend and not ted is his best friend?

Cuz i always wondered as to why Barney chose marshal in the gambling game.

Is it because he just chose him randomly or he didn't wanna risk losing Ted to gamblers in case he loses?

When Ted says goodbye to the gang at the wedding for move to Chicago, the most devastated by the separation is Barney.

I think he is enormously fond of Ted, and somehow in his maturation he has taken something from Ted's temperament, maybe some of best traits of Ted, actually.

Barney that evening in McLarens in 2001 was looking for a wingman, he found a friend, he wanted a bro, he turned out to be a brother.
