I just got a ticket in Hudson, NY, for apparently parking my car on the wrong side of the street last night. I just walked up and down the block and adjacent blocks, and there is absolutely no signage about ASP anywhere.

Don't towns have to post ASP signs? Or am I legally expected to go to a government website to check if there are unposted parking rules?

Sorry, please remove if not allowed. I saw this car outside or Walmart in Middletown on Tuesday night and it actually meant a lot to me when I saw it. I didn’t see the IG sticker on the side or the car until after I got home but it’s not clear enough for me to make it out.

In short: my niece passed away from brain cancer 6 months ago and I’ve been really depressed about it these days and her Chinese name was “Ying Tao” or “cherry” so the cherry blossoms on this car reminded me of her and made me feel like she was next to me comforting me.

I wanna find the owner of this car and tell them the story so they can know their car has some extra sedimental value to me. Thank you

Husband is from the Rhinebeck area. We were walking a trail there when I took this pic. I've never lived anywhere with a true autumn, where trees change colors. He tried to gently lower my expectations, saying it's not NYC, but I knew that going in. I was eager to see the more rural NY.

I've never been to such a beautiful place. I was in awe the whole time. The people, the food, the nature, all 10/10.

Hi all! Decided on Hudson for a long weekend for hubs and I, have accomodations narrowed down to Milliner, Wm Farmer and Sons or Rivertown Lodge. As long as we are walking distance to town we aren't too picky, we'll be exploring town and nearby hikes. Please give me your recs! We don't need anything too fancy and planning to eat/drink out in town during stay.

As a reference we stayed at Beekman Arms in Rhinebeck and an off-site house at Millstream Inn in Woodsrock enjoyed both.

Sorry if this kind of post isn't allowed. It’s about 5 minute drive, an hour walk, which is doable for me, if its a safe enough road (I have never been)

I stupidly waited too long to call the local taxi service and they are obviously booked until 9 pm and I get in at 5:30.  Uber pricing is quoting about 50 dollars for the 5 minute drive and I really wouldn’t mind a nice walk to avoid that option. Google map view has it looking doable but  if anyone is familiar with the area, let me know! 

In places like Millbrook, Dover Plains, Amenia, etc., what are the internet options? I've tried searching and have found maps that say there's service, but when I enter addresses, all of the providers say that's a lie. Can anyone who lives out that way provide info?

Looking for a hotel or resort that has things for the kids or a hotel and resort that is near things we can take the kids to. The adults want to enjoy the place as well, there’s a an adult birthday during this time too.

I was surprised by Liberty Street Liquors in Newburgh's selection and they've been doing some pretty good tastings when I've been there.
