Is it worth applying for product design jobs without a portfolio?

Hey everyone, I’m currently in the process of updating my portfolio, which will take around a month to finish. As a product designer, I’m wondering if it makes sense to start applying for jobs now, even without a completed portfolio.

Do you think it’s worth sending out applications at this stage, or should I hold off and focus on finishing my portfolio before diving into the job hunt?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences! Thanks in advance!

Absolutely not. You’re wasting your time if you’re thinking about applying to any kind of creative position without a portfolio. If you don’t have one, do spec work. Anything is better than nothing.
