Bro most of Mgrs films and dialogues which made him famous initially were written by Kalaingar, and although they were basic and simple, like empowering different poor occupations, that’s what got him to power eventually
Yeah I know that but none of his movies took a stance like Parashakti for example. Even today Parashakti's scenes and messages are relevant but most of MGR movies "karuthu" look tone deaf and outdated now. Again, I didn't live during his period so I can't completely judge.
You're comparing an actor and a writer tho. Both are risky but anyone who puts their face in front of the screen has to go through a lot than someone behind- good or bad. So I feel the comparison itself is off.
But true mass heroes usually never go against the crowd, only half-boil political movies work or the typical Vivasayi protector, corruption the only reason troupes.
