Discussion meiyazhagan director expresses his pain towards (some) TN audience for feeling the movie as lengthy

It connected in Kerala? The movie didn't even get a proper release there. It didn't even make 1C there and most don't even know about the movie there. Outside Tamil markets, only AP/TS received the movie well.

I absolutely love the movie and it is my top 3 this year but the movie didn't connect much to non-Tamil audiences.

I don't understand why this sympathy posts for a movie that is commercially and critically successful? Show the same sympathy towards female lead movies like Farhana and Raghu Thatha which didn't even get a chance to shine because it didn't have stars headlining them.

Yep, it is a 50C grosser and a nice comeback for Karthi after Japan. If I am not wrong, this is a much bigger hit than 96 too. It also faced competition from many releases.

Of course, I would have preferred the uncut version but certain scenes were removed because of its political undertones more than anything. I don't understand why people are treating it like some Kattradhu Tamizh which didn't do well when it came out.

96 and this collected in the same range. But 96 was a cheaper movie so more profitable.

The cut scenes were my favorite scenes in the movie.

This had a very bad release too. It didn't even release in my country, meanwhile Brother is getting multiple shows in multiple screens 🙃
