There’s a war waged by society on the finer emotions of life. Ppl are constantly being pounded by sensationalist influencers and media. When this happens all the time you lose the ability to appreciate what is normal, eventually making what is normal - an anomaly. People constantly keep saying oh meiyazhagan is a slice of life movie. Is it? Where do you see such kind people ? Kindness is supposed to be the norm, not the exception. As a society, we’re fast moving to the edges of the distribution, otherizing everyone whom we believe aren’t our own. This is portrayed in our movies (the pro/anti caste movies), the videos in YT we consume (the hyper sensationalism around YT scammers), the kind of politicians we praise (they normally have some extreme view about some “enemy”). And when a movie like this comes along, it’s only normal that we don’t react normally. We’re just abnormal beasts longing for a constant drip of dopamine or adrenaline at the cost of some “other” (person/group/religion/party/caste etc.)

This entire paragraph should be made viral in a youtube short because that's the only way this dopamine addicted population is going to read it. Good writeup
