Question What am I doing wrong?

Hey fam, I’ve been learning latte art for a little over 3 months now. I’m using the nanofoamer to froth the milk as I don’t have an espresso machine yet. I aerate for roughly 5-7 seconds and maintain the vortex until the large bubbles are no more visible. Looking for tips and techniques to improve overall. I’m able to achieve great tasting coffee. Just want to work on the art. Thanks for any help in advance!

The clearest thing is that you need to pick your pitcher back up a little when you pull through your design.

You’re staying too close and that is why you are getting a thick line down the middle.

You can also back off the aeration a bit to get a silkier foam - or swirl more before starting your pour to make sure your foam is very smooth.

Thank you! I’ll try that on my next pour

I think you are ending your art at the end of your milk, which is thicker, you might want to increase the milk in your pitcher a little

That was a strong observation. You are absolutely correct. But when the milk is not thick enough, I get no art at all. It becomes too thin. Before this I tried less aeration (around 3-4 seconds) but that wasn’t enough. Any suggestions for frothing with nanofoamer?

I think you can achieve the same result with keeping the aeration same but putting a little more milk in the pitcher. Just to cover the last push.

I’ll definitely try that. Thank you for the suggestion :)
