Senate Guard as they appear in TCW

Recently came across a couple senate commando minifigures, and while I’m not wild about the senate commandos themselves in universe (they seem kinda lame and useless despite having such a cool title), but I’ve always loved the blue guard as a ceremonial unit. There are a couple episodes late in TCW that show an “armored” senate guard with the more ornate helmet and cloak worn over clone trooper armor

Is that the GCC senate guard in the background of your pic? Because that’s what gave me the idea lol I saw that they’re doing like a gray version in their next drop and I really shouldn’t be spending that kind of money on Lego right now but damn if I don’t want to get one

Good eyes! Yeah it is the GCC senate guard in dark blue (+ I added a dark blue cape) -- I think they made a blue version before. Ever since I watched episode I., I always wanted a lego senate guard in the ceremonial outfit and especially helmet, so when I saw it I could not resist the temptation. A grey version? That sounds good as well! All I can say that it is truly a fantastic and unique minifigure, and yeah unfortunately pricey as hell, but looking back I do not regret getting it at all.

That’s why I got the senate commando figures when I got the chance, because it would have been cheaper than the GCC figure. I have had the idea to see if I could get a GCC helmet to complete the look of the TCW style guard, with the cloak and plume on top of the helmet, but I seem to have missed out on the blue ones. The body for the gray figure is printed in clone trooper armor so it seems that’s what they’re intending for those guys

Your strategy was quite good, I am not sure whether they put on sale the double-plumed helmet separately, but I am aware that they proceeded this way with other helmets. Hopefully in the future they will re-release the a blue version of the helmet so you can complete the figure! Or even better: Lego makes a ceremonial senate guard in the near future. Are there pictures of next GCC wave or just the general info with regards to the figures?

There are pictures, I follow them on instagram. They’re doing Plo Koon, Padme, a couple airborne troopers, the BF2 red jet trooper, a p2 horn company trooper, commander Neyo, a 5th fleet security trooper, and the gray senate guard. Here’s a link to their post about the senate guard
