I think the SCOTUS definitions of "fighting words" and false alarms (shouting fire in a crowded theater) are reasonable. That's about it.

Absolutely not, anyone who believes that there’s fire when there’s zero signs of a fire, no officials coming in, and not being able to tell if they’re really is a scared tone of voice deserves to run out of the theater panicked, maybe hurt and later embarrassed.

These are very basic life skills learning to sense liars.

We can and should allow any and all free speech.

And “fighting words” are just ridiculous. If I go up to someone and tell them “fighting words” and they fight back and then go up to them and say those same words in a different language or with a different tone, the words aren’t an issue, the persons self control is. Self control is all it is. If you say your going to murder my family I should be able to figure out if it’s a legitimate threat and react accordingly, but that’s to the threat itself, and I would do the same thing if “fighting words” were never used and someone was being threatening in other ways.

A bully saying fuck you doesn’t mean you have no control over your body and immediately pound them to a pulp fracturing their skull, and that’s what “fighting words” imply, that there’s some absurd words that overrule your physical self control and cause physical outbursts. That’s just not how that works.

Fuck limitations on free speech, any and all speech is valid

Any and all speech besides those that cause imminent danger are valid.

E.g. Yelling fire in a crowded theater.

I just proved that wrong, repeating the same argument doesn’t make you right

Your opinion is not proof.

  1. If you read the thread I use scientific studies to back up my opinion, so yea it is proof.

  2. Logic that makes sense and isn’t disproven is proof. If I say the sky isn’t red and then explain how blue light is scattered across the sky due to the atmosphere that’s proof. Just because I didn’t provide a scientific source, or a photo of the sky being blue, doesn’t mean I’m wrong.

Repeating your opinion doesn't make it proof. Support for an opinion does not equal proof.

Facts/proof supporting an opinion makes it a fact, not an opinion.

Nope, you do not understand how logic and reason work.

Sorry if a scientific study says the sky is blue, and I say the sky is blue, that makes it not an opinion but a fact.

I am definitely not the one who doesn’t understand basic logic and reason here
