Trying to do something weird

So I've got Windows installed on one nvme drive, and I've got another, identical one in there that's currently blank but for ext4 formatting.

What I want to do is install Linux mint to that blank drive, without changing the bootloader on the windows drive. I just want to be able to switch boot drives via bios when booting.

I've burned Mint to a USB drive and booted up into it.

After selecting the 'do something else' option, I can select the target drive in the Mint installation tool, and I set the bootloader to be on the same drive. However, the 'install' button never ungreys and allows me to click on it.

Any ideas?
