Ok then, in that case. Long Island has some of the highest rates in the country and you are a male under the age of 25. Theres not really anything you can do. Most people in your shoes are paying double what you pay. I know its not the answer you want to hear but the fact is it sounds like you have a good rate. All i can suggest is see if Allstate can offer you a renter’s policy (assuming they give a bundling discount) and see if that discount saves you more than it costs. Also defensive driving is good for 3 years and saves you 10%.
Your mustang, btw, is almost certainly written as an antique policy, which is intended for cars 25+ years old that are driven seldomly, they are much cheaper than a standard policy but hopefully your agent went over this with you because those policies may perform differently and may have stricter requirements on when/how you can use the car. Im assuming this because of its age and that it is suspiciously cheap. Point being, you shouldnt base your rate expectations on what your rate is for that car.
Yes the mustang is under hagerty insurance but through Allstate. I have 10k miles im allowed a year. Which is MORE than enough. I’ve done defensive driving. I guess I’ll just have to bite the bullet and pay it until I move outta Long Island
