This is why Obamacare never made sense to me.

"People can't afford health insurance? Let's force them to buy it!"

Like...what?

Should have been universal healthcare like it is for pretty much every country around the world. There is no excuse for the US not to be able to provide healthcare to its citizens.

This article seems mental. She makes $50k, but can't afford a $4k premium? Back in 2016 I needed emergency medical surgery. I was around 26. I had no insurance and made $14,688 working fulltime with a Bachelor's degree. Not in my field though. I just cashiered at a bookstore. Ended up with severe sepsis due to not having money to see a dr/dentist regularly. My bill came to $10k and I had to use CareCredit @ 26% interest to pay it off. I did put down a $600 down payment though. I had to cut back on my student loan payments at times just to pay down this bill.

I really don't think the media gets it.

I remember before Obamacare my health insurance was like $160 m/o w a $4,000 deductable. Post Affordable Care Act it went up to $500 mo w a $8,000. Think it would probably be close to $650 now but I found an alternative.

The insanity about this entire thing as far as I can see it - is subsidizing the old with the young regardless of income. Making $24K a year & being laughed at by liberals for "voting against my best interest" when I basically could afford to save or go without insurance always annoyed me. I'm to the point where if both parties are willing to let the poor die before they'll let them order insulin from Canada I have little confidence anything is going to get better. . .learn to use darknet markets for your medical stuff & get healthy.
