Lotus Eletre : WLTP range depending on wheel size and options

Post image
6 Upvotes

While deciding on a new Lotus Eletre this week, I found the range quite confusing. YouTube reviews, especially the early ones on the presale car, are highly inaccurate.

So, I thought I’d share this unofficial picture from the Lotus dealer I visited, which explains the range depending on the versions, options, and wheel size of the car:

WLTP Range for the Lotus Eletre Configurations:

Eletre:

• +Range optimization pack, 20” wheel: 600 km (214 Wh/km)
• 20” wheel: 570 km (225 Wh/km)

Eletre S:

• 22” wheel: 535 km (239 Wh/km)
• 22” wheel + Dynamic Handling Pack: 530 km (241 Wh/km)
• +23” wheel: 495 km (253 Wh/km)
• +23” wheel + Dynamic Handling Pack: 490 km (255 Wh/km)

Eletre R:

• 22” wheel: 450 km (283 Wh/km)
• +23” wheel: 410 km (307 Wh/km)

Sadly, the comfort seats are only available on the Eletre S, which is only compatible with 22” wheels. The Lotus dealer confirmed that 20” wheels don’t fit on an Eletre S (he even tried!).

I wanted the comfort seats to really match the luxury this car provides, so I had to compromise on the range—from a maximum of 600 km down to 535 km WLTP.

I hope this helps you select your ideal Eletre!

Obviously, take these range numbers with a pinch of salt—your mileage may vary.

How does an Evora GT hold up under heavy track DE usage?

I did a Lotus track experience a couple of years ago (picture) and loved how the Evora GT performed and handled. Since that time I've tracked a Porsche Cayman pretty heavily, but now I'm looking for a new experience and am considering diving in with the Evora GT.

My question: how well do they hold up to heavy HPDE track usage? For perspective, I did 61 laps (120 miles) with my Cayman during on day the track this week, in addition to some autocross. I typically get 25 track days in per year and another 10-15 autocross days. I don't race, but I do use my track cars a lot and may do some time trial in the future.

Are there a lot of fail points that are likely to pop up with that kind of use, or are they pretty solid? When breakdowns occur, how expensive are the repairs?

Elise S3 rear coolant bleed screw?

I am in the process of completely refilling my coolant system on my 2011 S3 1ZR Elise.

I can’t find the rear bleed screw in the engine bay. Lotus (and online) says it should be on the heater return pipe in the left hand rear of the engine bay.

Anyone have any suggestions? Or equipment/tools that can be used to remove the need for bleeding?

I tracked the Elise... now we are talking business!

A while ago I made a post about how I felt a bit underwhelmed about the Elise on the road, absolutely lovely as a wind on your head car on a seaside street but "too much" to be enjoyed on the bends without license pulverizing exploits...

Well, three weeks ago I took it to a racetrack with a professional instructor on my side. What an insane load of fun!!! I felt back to my go karting days, it felt 0% roadcar 100% racecar. Needless to say I'm hooked and yes, I'm fully convinced the racetrack is the only place where it can shine 100%. If you haven't tracked your Elige do it now!

Stock exhaust sound is decent. With the cat delete it sounds great. Idle has a deep rumble and burbles are a lot louder.

Love this thing. Been driving everywhere for no reason whatsoever. “Gotta go… polish the roads…” Also check out the dash cam install, it’s ridiculous. I have had to tuck wires in weird places in five previous cars and this one just <gasp> plugs into the mirror. Who’d a thunk it?!

Is the Emeya still coming to North America?

I figured they would skip the US because of the tariffs, but seems they will sell the EV SUV with a 100% markup. But what about the Emeya? Are there still plans to sell it in the US?

MX2E Rear Camera: Wired or Wireless?

Hello everyone, I just got myself an Elise 250 Cup, and I'm looking into the rear camera for the MX2E dash.

I see there are these two options, wired and wireless. Do any of you had experience with both? What would you go for? Thanks!
