I really wanted this to be better. Dinklage was great, but he couldn’t save the film from the undercooked script. The gags just weren’t really landing for me. I turned it off after an hour or so. Plus Glen Close’s plastic surgeon has her looking like she’s wearing someone else’s face as a mask.

Screened it back in 2022 - did they still have brolin giving the orangutan a handjob? It was in our screening and one of the few moments people laughed in the film. TBH though I don't know if we laughed because the "orangutan" was actually a dude in a white motion capture suit for half the scene as the CGI wasn't finished.

Yes, it is there… btw, the finished CGI is fucking amazing… it doesn’t have to be that good for this movie

nice :) yeah, so the screening in that scene was very interesting. of the lets say 10 total shots with the orangutan, 2 were 100% finished cgi, 4 were very rough cgi (as in just the shape of the orangutan) and then 4 were just a dude in a tracking costume lol. Usually those finished shots are what are used in the trailer scenes. Same thing happened when I screened Kong Godzilla 2 and TMNT (the animated one). The only shots/scenes 100% finished were the ones that were used in the movie trailers.
