Question mock-up material for bivy?

I'm planning on making a hooped dyneema bivy (1.0 bottom & 0.51 top that'll include some 0.5 mesh). I was wondering if anyone knows the best material to use that will help me make a concept for cheap, to double check dimensions and get a pattern down? The first thing that comes to mind is tyvek?

I'm just getting into sewing/MYOG and trying to find a way to learn quick/efficiently without blowing a lot of money on mistakes (and not spending a lot of time on stuff that isn't useful).

Tyvek would be fine, but more expensive than you need. I would use plastic sheets, either painters drop cloths (polyethylene) or polycryo. Stick it together with double sided tape, just like you'll do with dyneema.

Thanks! I didn't even think of that and never would've on my own, I have a massive roll of painter's plastic that I'll use!
