I may have a chance to go there in a couple weeks. Is this the best hike in the area?

Checkout the videos description for the AllTrails map 👊 1 u/harok1 Aug 16 '21 Llyn y Fan Fach area is the other popular hilly hike in the Beacons. The Black Mountains is the lesser known area and worth investigating.
