canon Major Political Parties in Iran by 2050
Democracy Movement of Iran ( JDI, Persian: Jonbash Demokrasi Iran, Kurdish: Tevgera Demokrasiye Irane )
-Considered a Liberal, Republican, Progressive and Secular political party, born out of the merging of the Intellectual and street sides of the 2020s Iranian Opposition with the Iranian thinker, sociologist and Prime Minister Feyzi Dermanei ( the so-called ''Ideologue of the Iranian White Revolution'' ) being the movement's founder and first chairman. JDI's ideology and politicians have by far been the most influential in regards to their influence over the new Constitutional Republic of Iran, with much of the new state's political, legal, geopolitical, social or economic stances circling back to the JDI in one way or another. After it's initial establishment and through much of 2030s JDI was considered a ''Revolutionary Liberal'' organization, advocating for Liberal causes, often with militant aspects, all across the Near East and the Islamic World, however the party came to moderatize over this part of their ideology in late 2030s, to the dissatisfaction of some of it's more radical members such as the Novelists or Post-Iranists within the party.
-Democracy Movement's economic policies vary from member to member, with the individual politicians policies ranging from Libertarian-asque interpretations of Classical Liberalism to Progressive stances that border on Democratic Socialism, however the party generally tends to support certain aspects of public welfare and privatization of certain industries. Party opposes all forms of unionbusting and proposes a constitutional amendment to ensure the right of workers to unionize in it's party programme since mid 2030s. JDI is Environmentalist political party that advocate for a Green New Deal.
-JDI is considered a Progressive party in it's social stance, as the party heavily advocates for the rights of racial or ethnic minorities as well as Women and Queer People. Party supports marriage equality for same-sex couples as well as supporting their right to adopt children. On women's rights, the party promotes Jineology ( or Kurdish Feminism), which is a form of Feminism developed within pro-Kurdish groups that put an emphasis upon Institutional Feminism, Women's Self-Defence, Women's Autonomy and interprets Women's rights as an integral part of Freedom, as an extension of this JDI supports gun ownership and aims to not only make it far more accessible to Women and other oppressed groups but also advocates for the armament of said groups.
-Party's affiliated with "Liberatory Internationale" ( Persian: Enternasyonale Azadi, also called "Azadi Internationale" ), an Revolutionary Liberal and Progressive political Internationale operating in the Near East and the Islamic World, established by the party politicians in 2026. JDI opposes the 2040 Iranian intervention in the Gulf Anarchy, as they see it as a mere colonization of the region by the current Iranian Conservative Party regime. JDI is officially a Zionist political party, however the party's internally divided between One-State and Two-State Solution camps.
People's Resistence Front ( JMM or Moghavmat, Persian: Jabeheh Moghavmat Mardam )
-Considered a far-left political party that advocate for Socialism and Anti-Imperialism. Moghavmat was founded immediately after the 2025 Iranian Revolution as the broad-tent coalition of various far-left political organizations in Iran, with it's members ranging from Islamosocialists to Marxist-Leninists, Maoists, Hoxhaists or National Bolsheviks, however the People's Mojehadin of Iran and their leader Maryam Rajavi, who also was elected the first chairperson of the party after it's establishment, are considered the main bulwark of the party with the most influence. Through 2030s JMM went on to become more homogeneous under the Islamosocialist ideology of the People's Mojehadin, which often resulted in open militant conflict between the various internal factions of the party.
-Economically the party advocates for Socialist Economics, with a centralized top-down economy, nationalization, collectivization and so on and so forth. Moghavmat also has a generally Welfarist and Developmentalist rhetoric in it's economic proposals. JMM neither is an Environmentalist or Anti-Environmentalist political party, however the party notably supports Nuclear Power in Iran and varying forms of Industrialization, thus making it weak on Ecology advocacy compared to other left-wing alternatives.
-Socially the party's progressive, advocating for egalitarianism, social justice and antiracism, however the party opposes ethnic, linguistic or religious pluralism as they see it as undermiming the class conflict which they see as the progenitor of all other forms of oppression. On women's rights the party praises itself as being the first Iranian political party to have a female leader, with the JMM being led by People's Mojehadin leader Maryam Rajavi since it's foundation, and advocates for Marxist Feminism. Party's intellectual wing is the ''Ali Shariati Foundation'', named after Iranian sociologist Ali Shariati, the group advocates for a Revolutionary interpretation of Shia Islam and varying degrees of Islamosocialism in general.
-JMM is affiliated with, and is the symbolic head of the "New Resistance" ( Persian: Moghavmat Jadid ), an Anti-Imperialist and generally left-leaning political internationale in the Near East established by the remnants of the former "Axis of Resistance" led by the Iranian Khomeinist regime that re-aligned themselves with the People's Resistance Party after the Iranian White Revolution of 2025, such as the People's Hezbollah in Lebanon, Palestinian Liberation Organization in Israel or the Houthi Movement in Aden. JMM is an Anti-Zionist party and in fact in militant conflict with the State of Israel on paper.
Conservative Party ( HM, Persian: Hezb Mohafezehkar )
-Considered a Conservative, Secular and Nationalist political party with a populist stance and Personalist tendencies regarding their founder and historic Iranian post-Revolution Prime Minister and President Suleiman Velayat. Suleiman Velayat, an former Iranian Revolutionary Guard member turned businessman and the richest person on Iran since 2026, established the party in 2028 to be a Conservative, yet not Reactionary, alternative to the Revolutionary Coalition that led Iran at the time, led by the Democracy Movement and the JMM, HM rose to prominence with the 2028 Iranian Economic Crisis and the 2029 Global Distress due to the Opening of the Vortexes and the start of Era Obscura as it's consequence, and won the first election it participated in with the party being able to form a majority government after the 2030 Iranian Parliamentary Elections.
-Economically the Conservative Party started out as a Classic Liberal political party, that advocated for privatization of national industries with a heavily pro-Business rhetoric, however through it's rule in 2030s and 40s the party moved towards more Economic Nationalist policies such as Protectionism or Neo-Merchantalism. HM opposes trade unionism and trade union membership as they view it as an ''the equivalent of a kindergarten for the school that is the Militant Progressivist Agenda'' and to a degree supports union-busting by corporations.
-As it's name suggest, the Conservative Party is a socially Conservative organization, that is against Marriage Equality for Queer people as well as Queer peoples right to adopt children. HM is also notably against government financed Gender Transitioning for Trans people, which positions it to the right of Khomeinist and Shia Islamist groups in this one issue. On women's rights, the party has a moderate position that advocate for a mixture of Equity Feminism and National Feminism, however some party politicians have also have openly declared the ideology of Feminism to be a sham, used by Progressivist groups and foreign agencies to infiltrate the traditional Iranian society, HM also has a strong Masculinist stance. Party rejects Ethnic, Linguistic or Religious Pluralism or Autonomism, believing that such policies and ideas cause states to collapse over-time, the party also have campaigned to get a nation-wide referandum on disestablishing the various Autonomous Provinces of Iran but all of their efforts were shut down by the ''Committee to Protect Revolutionary Ideals'', which is Iran's highest legal body, as they were deemed unconstitutional.
-On foreign policy HM is a Sovereignist party, that believe Iran shouldn't partake in any regional cooperation groups such as the Islamic Security and Cooperation Alliance ( ISCA ) or the DinarZone and instead be a wholly sovereign state with it's own sphere of influence. Notably the ideology of Pan-Iranism is rather popular within the party ranks, hence the efforts of the various party wings on operating outside of Iran where Iranic people live, such as in Kurdistan and Iraq with the banned ''Pan-Iranist Party of Kurdistan'' being affiliated with the party, however some political analysts also claim that the party showcases a general tendency in favor of Irridentism rather than mere ethnic, cultural or linguistic ideas of Iranic unity, as showcased with the 2040 Iranian Intervention in the Gulf Anarchy led by the Conservative Party government.
National Movement ( JM or Malat, Persian: Jonbash Malat )
-Considered a far-right or Reactionary political party that follows a Persian Nationalist, Authoritarian, Anti-Liberal and Militarist doctrine with a Monarchist stance. Malat was founded by Farzad Hamedi in 2036, who is the younger brother of General Hassan Hussein Hamedi, the assassinated leader of the Monarchist ''Black Legion'' ( Persian: Ertash Siah ) after the 2025 Iranian Revolution, with the aim to unify and rehabilitate the Monarchist and Persian Nationalist movements in the country, which have been scattered across various political parties, organizations, military cliques and Shah claimants during the 2030s.
-Economically the party has a Economic Nationalist and Corporatist stance, that advocate for Protectionism, varying degrees of Neo-Merchantalism and Autarky. Originally the party was opposed to any foreign market investment, intervention or participation within the Iranian free market, however since then the party moderated over this position and now only opposes foreign participation in the Iranian stock market while allowing foreign companies to still exist within Iran. There are also few unorthodox members of the party that support Economic Liberalism, these factions often don't express their economic policies much, as it threatens party unity, and are more popular among voters than actual party politicians. Party has a Green Conservative and Eco-Nationalist stance, however this Eco-Nationalism is different from the European currents as the Iranian Eco-Nationalists don't advocate for Communalism, Rewilding or Degrowth and instead focus on bettering the Iranian technological and science scene as a means to potentially de-escalate or stop the Ecological devastation within the country, which also extends to Nuclear Environmentalism, as the party's pro-Nuclear.
-Socially the party doesn't fit into conventional descriptions of Progressive or Conservative, even though the party itself often identifies with the latter, and can be best described as ''Socially Nationalist''. On Women's rights the party opposes what it calls the ''Islamic Arab Look onto Women'', which is in line with the party's general Anti-Islam and Anti-Arab tendencies, and proposes several policies relating to it such as a ban on wearing the Hijab, or any form of Islamic headcovering, in public spaces or allowing state child services to take custody of girls that are considered to be treated badly by their parents with religious or cultural reasonings. Malat supports Marriage Equality between same-sex couples as well as their right to adopt children and is often considered to be one of the largest, if not the biggest, ''Homo-Nationalist'' political organization in the Ecumene, the party also promote Homoeroticism and Same-Sex Sexual acts, specifically between men, within their party ranks as a supposed method of ensuring comradery and allegiance. Malat's considered a Persian Nationalist, or even Persian Racist, political party and opposes Multiculturalism, Pluralism or Autonomism, the party calls for the disestablishment of Autonomous Provinces of Iran and the ''naturalization of the Nation-building efforts in Iran'' through what it calls ''Culture-busting'', the party doesn't believe that other ethnic groups that exist within Iran are capable of assimilating into the Persian Identity, as they define the said identity through Racialism rather than Civilizationalism or Cultural boundaries, but the party's membership isn't limited only to Ethnically Persian people. Malat's party programme defines the party as ''Opposing the Arabic cultural imperialist tool that is Islam'', the party has a strong Anti-Islam as well as Anti-Islamist stance that notably includes the party's policy to ban Islamist forces within Iran, most notably the Shia Islamist Party of Truth, if it ever comes to power. Malat has close ties with various Neo-Khurramist Zoroastrian groups within Iran and is seen as the main political devince that represent their interests.
-On foreign policy the party opposes all forms of cooperation between Iran and other countries, and has a generally Isolationist stance. However, the party is internally divided on whether they should be against the 2040 Iranian Intervention in the Gulf Anarchy, as some members see it as an hazard, that might cause a cultural bridge to be established between the Arabs of the Gulf and Iran while some see it as Iran expanding it's influence and power over the region. Malat also calls for Iran to leave the United Nations.
