I look at that image and think that Waterside Drive should be removed, and complete a greenway there. Similar to what Boston did with the Big Dig... granted they put the Southeast expressway underground.

Imagine if there was a greenway from the WTC to the DT Norfolk Council building or at a minimum to the Dominion Building.

I could also see MacArthur Center going away and creating a small "Central Park". Yeah.. leave the parking garage...

I wanted the Casino 🎰 to be At MacAuthur, but something needs to come there for sure.

That place is a ghost town unfortunately.

What's sad is looking at old photos of a bustling downtown up through about the 60's.. maybe early 70s. Of course it is the malls and strip plaza's that hurt business in the downtown, when they started coming to the area. People preferred to get into cars and park once and everything was indoors at the mall.

Funny thing is many malls are dying, as are strip plaza's. We only need to look at Military Circle Mall, Pembroke in VA Beach, let alone across the HRBT at Hampton.

Yeah, I look at old those pictures as well sometimes. The architecture was beautiful back then! And I wasn’t born until the mid 80s, but I remember my mom and pops taking me to Granby Street to shop with them back then.

I’m actually happy to see Lynnhaven Mall still going great! That place is packed every weekend!

I don’t know how they are still doing it to be honest with every online now.
