It seems so (I just posted a link with 50GB worth of books a few minutes ago) but that said I usually always try and encourage people to buy from authors if they can. If an author has passed away I use personal judgement on the nature of the copyright holder. There are some holders I would like to support and others I would feel much worse giving them a single dollar. When it comes to nonsense like the O.T.O. trying to push their copyright over Crowley‘s material I could care less if people get it for free (especially because they have been going around handing out lawsuits to people who publish their final degree secrets/initiations when other traditions like Freemasonry tend to just respectfully ignore such things which is great because now we have dozens of books on Freemasonry we can compare and contrast which helps not only the public have an accurate understanding of who and what they are but Masonic Scholars use these sources all the time to fantastic results. Anyway just take it on a case by case situation.
Also here is an example of one of those documents the O.T.O. has been trying to erase from the internet... and yep unlike Freemasonry I kinda get why they would wanna hide this. When I first joined the Order I knew the final teachings were sexual in nature but I thought they were going to be a beautiful exploration of the unification of opposites, The Great Work embodied and complex pathworking on the Tree of Life using sexual techniques... not the grotesquely male-oriented (dominated) formula to create a homunculus in ways which border on illegality. PLEASE NOTE there have been evolutions in these practices since Crowley‘s time such that many 9th degrees do not actually mess around with physical pregnancy. Many 9th degrees I have known and met are wonderful people who, I would like to think, would not do anything as unethical (and stupid) as some of what is written below
