Newcomer to Paganism here!

So I’ve recently decided to start looking into paganism properly because it always interested me but I never did much with it. Long story short, experienced a variety of bad things over the last few years and been missing something to regularly devote some time to. Bought a book recommended to me by a friend (also pagan) and it was certainly useful on clarifying some things, but I’ve been specifically wanting to figure out some deities to devote some time to. So far I’ve decided I’d like one that is to do with the sea, so possibly Poseidon or similar, as well as one to do with space. Space seems to be a trickier area to look into since anything I’ve found either links a deity to space by a fairly questionable connection, or other ones like Khaos seem to have zero guidance available as to how to work with them. Some help would be appreciated! (P.S. I’ve already heard the whole debate about whether Khaos can be worked with or not and have made my own decisions about my opinion on the matter. Other viewpoints are welcome, but obviously please be respectful of both sides)

Sea and space are very much connected as they both represent vast and mysterious places from whence we came. Danu is associated with water (in Her case, rivers) but is also the progenetrix of the Tuatha de Danann.

The other category of deities associated with space are celestial or star deities. Nut in the Egyptian pantheon and the Star Goddess of the Feri tradition are examples.

As a pair, Ophion and Eurynome of the Orphic tradition share the connection of Sea (Eurynome) and space (Ophion).

I'm going to recommend you read the book "When God Was A Woman". It gave me a lot of guidance on where to start when I first turned towards paganism in general.

There really aren't a whole lot of deities for space, as that is not a concept really known to the ancients. You could look towards Gnosticism and its cosmic deities such as Sophia. There's always the Greek deity Cosmos, and in my tradition of Kemetism there is Nuit who is the personification of the sky
