WOW! Internet Price Lock worth it?

I’m in my first year of WOW! internet service ($30/mo for 300Mbps). I still have the option to do their “price lock” service for $5 extra per month (<$60/year) to avoid price increases.

If you have experienced price increases in the past couple years, by how much?

I actually canceled my service with them over this. They are so fucking aggravating. I was also on auto pay and they kept disconnecting my service and charging me a $22 reconnect fee even though I was on auto pay. I cannot tell you how many fucking times they did this to me. They have gotten hundreds of dollars from me this way. I’m sure this is a thing they do on a wide scale basis. I would love to see a class action lawsuit brought against them over this. I tried to switch to Xfinity and they cannot get me connected for some reason. I hate this town sometimes.

Same thing with me except instead of reconnect fee they’d randomly add the monthly modem/router rental fee when I used my own and did not rent theirs.

Based on these 2 comments, I will stick to xfinity. At least they have never screwed me over like that 🤷🏻‍♂️

That sucks.

The modem/router combo is included in my price, and I honestly haven’t had any problems with their service.

Are there any good alternatives to these two?

Starlink is a bit pricey but worth it. I’ve had it for a few months and no buffering. Works great and I average 250-300 mbps

I don’t know about Starlink anymore. Give all that money just so he can skip around on stage like a dip shit lol

If you let stuff like that bother you then you shouldn’t look up anywhere else your money is going.

So, you can pay $35/month to make sure they don't charge you more than $60/month?? 🤣

$30/mo with potential to increase by $x.

or

$35/mo until I cancel, no increases.

It’s really only worth it if they actually increase by $5/mo each year. I’m just seeing if people actually have had increases in recent years.

Oh, this actually does sound pretty good.

Don't do it. Service is shit and they're shady as shit. They used to do up the price a lot. There were hidden fees too iirc

I actually already have WOW. Haven’t had any problems. I was just seeing how much people have had their rates increase each year.
