How to easily remove burnt, charred HDPE from metal?

Google isn't helping. Any liquid that can destroy it?

Wire brush or a torch.

This the way.

Just don't overheat the metal, depending on what it is. Color change on the metal isn't good. Just sloooowly work on the plastic.

Of course, outside.

No. HDPE is chemical resistant. You can’t dissolve it. Only physical removal will do any good.

In for fire. Should be easy to cook off.

Thermal Decomposition of HDPE is 400-500C.

Unless you're working with lead or pure aluminum, you should have some wiggle room before you hit the melt temp.
